Role of Energy Consumption on the Environmental Impact of Sectoral Growth in Malaysia

Although some studies have posited that sectoral growth could influence environmental pollution through energy consumption, the issue has not been explicitly and empirically investigated in carbon-neutrality literature. Hence, this analysis fills gap extant literature by employing interaction models to ascertain moderating role of consumption on impacts industrial, agricultural, financial, service sectors Malaysia. It also analyzes marginal effects (i.e., ecological footprint carbon emissions) at various levels consumption. The Autoregressive Distributed lag technique utilized study found variables are cointegrated. empirical estimations reveal plays a harmful industrial financial but does aggravate agricultural sectors.
